Smartcitymakassar.com. --Makassar- One of the sources of Makassar's 9% economic growth comes from locals' creativities, especially the young people. It is the great potentials for Makassar future development in creative economy sector.
Deputy Mayor of Makassar, Syamsu Rizal, familiarly known as Deng Ical, explained about this at the launching of "Novel Creative Preneur", at Sekolah Tinggi Ekonomi (STIE) Nobel, Saturday (19/12). Furthermore, Deng Ical explained that both creative economy and entrepreneurship concept are highly important in order to develop synergy among all elements, either for business entities, higher education, Indonesia Young Entrepreneur Association or HIPMI, or creative societies. All these elements should be in the same rhythm in term of their directions to avoid collision.
Deng Ical further described, "all resources and creative production factors should be in synergy and should be linked so that they grow as well as develop harmoniously. The government role in question is to bring this harmony."
The role of creative economic sectors become more significant in the coming years. Central Committee of Indonesia Young Entrepreneur Association revealed that creative economy sector contributes to around 8% of Indonesia GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and is among the top five sectors of the most national economic drivers.* (Iskandar Burhan)
