Smartcitymakassar.com. --Makassar- Nine fractions in Makassar City Council has unanimously supported two drafts of city regulation ('Ranperda') proposed by the Government of Makassar, Wednesday (27/01/2016). In the City Council plenary session dealing with the fraction deliberation on the drafts of 'Kota Dunia' (world city) and 'Pengelolaan Air Tanah' (ground water management), all fractions has agreed on these proposed drafts.
Chaired by Makassar Council Speaker, Farouk M. Betta, the plenary session has agreed to pass the drafts to the further processes. The Mayor of Makassar, Moh. Ramdhan Pomanto, thanked for the council's support to the drafts. "So far, there is no 'Kota Dunia' regulation draft (Ranperda). This will be the basis for society's and government's behaviour toward the world city." For the draft of ground water management, the Mayor of Makassar explained that the regulation is urgently required and the council fully understood it.
Concerning the fractions' view, the member of Democratic Party (Partai Demokrat) Fraction, Abdi Asmara, said that the proposed draft is worth to support considering Makassar's magnificent past and the strategic position of this city as the 'living room' of eastern part of Indonesia.
At the same time, Fasruddin Rusly from the United Development Party (Partai Persatuan Pembangunan) Fraction, said the ground water management regulation draft is needed to support the ground water conservation and to manage its utilisation.* (Iskandar Burhan)
