Fresh air and breezy wind build the park atmosphere so attractive and comfortable for jogging lovers. 'Tiger' Park or 'Taman Macan' invites the joggers warmly.
It is easy to find this park. It is at the city center of Makassar, at Slamet Riyadi Street. For Makassar locals it is one of the favourite places. The locals from different ages come to enjoy, to get the impression of, the park. Most of them are jogging. Some others come with their families. While others go there just to enjoy the well-known traditional cake called 'Baroncong'. "I just come here to buy 'baroncong'. They are delicious", answered Kasim with his specific Makassar dialect.
"I come here every every Saturday and Sunday morning together with my office colleagues," said Riswan, a professional works at private office in Makassar. "After jogging, we do not immediately go home, instead, do some relaxes here, enjoying the park," he further added, while appointing a small poll located in the middle of the park.
The park is surrounded by some long trees. Some benches are well arranged, and a poll is put in the middle of the park. There stands a monument at the southern part to commemorate brave persons who part of the "Indonesian Tiger Troops" or "Kelasykaran Harimau Indonesia". At the top of the monument stands a tiger.
